I'm spending 10 days in guatemala during december. what should i see? i especially like outdoor stuff?

Close to Antigua I would do Volcan Pacaya and Lake Atitlan (Panajachel), and if you have time, you can do Chichicastenango for the market.

If you have the time, Tikal and Ceibal for Mayan Ruins and Rain Forest and then Rio Dulce.

If you are in for some serious hiking, you can climb up Volcan Agua one day, spend the night, then come back down the next night.

I would strongly recommend a trip to see Lake Atitlan with the volcanoes around it.....very lovely! You might want to join a trekking  tour, whilst there, to see the volcanoes. I believe they have such tours. Since you like the outdoor stuff, that might be worth a try.

Also, you can go to Tikal National Park....trek the forest trails there and see the wildlife in their Natural environment.

I would list Semuc Champey as number 1 on the list of things to do. Most people don't make it out there because it is a long trek, but it is well worth the trip. If you are looking for something closer to the city, Antigua and Panajachel (Lake Atitlan) are the places to go. Rio Dulce is beautiful and so is Monterrico, but make sure you bring plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of insect repellant.  Last, but not least, is Tikal.  The Mayan ruins are awesome.  Map out your trip and have fun. Use common sense and you safety shouldn't be a problem. Travel after dark becomes dangerous, but it is still possible.

Chichicastenango on market days, Sundays and Thursdays, shouldn't be missed.

If you can't get to Tikal, there are other sites to see.

Since the outdoors is what you like, you might want to trek up a volcano in the Lake Atitlan (Lago Atitlan) area. I think you can join tours. It is better to join and go in a group. I read in a travel guide that sometimes if a traveller is alone, it is possible to be mugged!

Tikal National Park is worth a visit: you see relics of Mayan History  in clearings in the forested area and also glimpses of wildlife: birds and insects, monkeys, to name a few.
