So my name is Kristy and I am sixteen. At all two homecomings I have been to, I have had a blast! Last year, I was even crowned homecoming queen for my class. But in my heart I always feel bad for the teenage boys and girls who are too ill to be able to attend their big high school dance. So instead of going to homecoming this year, I am going to add up all the money that I would normally spend on buying a dress, shoes, getting my hair and nails done, of course a ticket, dinner and a corsage for my date and giving it away to the change for childrens foundation, particularly to the saint judes hospital, where there are very very sick and terminally ill kids and teens. The money will go to cancer research among other sorts of research to help find a cure. but my small donation is not going to be enough and I would love to be able to spread the word about this and get other kids from schools in my area to donate as well. What are some ideas you have that could help promote this charity and get teens to participate? Is this something that you would donate to if you were a teenager in high school?

Thanks for your ideas (=

OH AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!! I need a name for this charity. What are some ideas?

  1. That is a Great Idea, BUT... much of what is donated goes into Fund Raising to Obtain MORE FUNDS!

IF.. you really wanted to Help OUT...?

Go to a Senior Living Facility and Donate some of YOUR Weekends helping those that Cannot Help Themselves!

What you do for 'Public Praise and Adolation' ... is Not Real Service!

    Thanks, RR

  2. First of all, some people will put people down no matter what they do good or bad so dont even worry about that, you cant listen to those people. If i were a kid i would definatly donate but i know that alot of kids wont give up thier prom so why not asking them to give up one thing from it,do thier hair at home,or carpool instead of a limo,ya know things like that? I think that more people would donate that way.My 16 year old said "queen for a cause" would be a good name and im sure you could get your local paper or news to do a story on it.Good luck

  3. i love the idea!

    i would definitely donate!

um, how about...the lack of giving back.

    or.

i dont know, i have a lack of creativity today.
