I am a freelance Graphic Designer and myself and other Designers are getting together to build a Design Studio, but the downfall of being a Designer is that we don't want your usual boring office. These type of offices (interior wise) are what we have in mind:

basically, an open plan office with balconys, preferably with stone walls and spiral staircases etc. what is my first step to finding an office like this?

thanks in advance!

  1. The third design is awesome!

  2. I think your best bets are to either rent an old factory building or a old retail store with very high ceilings.  A big advantage of either of these types of property is low rent.

In either case you will have to do your own remodeling.  You can have your spiral staircases (buy the prefab metal ones -- they will reinforce the industrial look you want.)

You can build out your balconies from the walls or make them free standing (like some of the two story booths you see at conventions).

    Hope this helps

  3. Your most likely will not find exactly what you are looking form without paying a hefty penny. What i would recommend is get a place big enough and remodel it to fit your needs if you plan to be in the same place for more then 5 year this would be your best option.
