I'm starting a new school, any tips?

I'm going from a public school to a prep school. At my old school, it was absolutely insane. Trash cans were set on fire, kids were caught on campus with weed, and smoke bombs were thrown off in the hallways in between classes. I'm nervous about making friends and finding my way throughout my new school. I'm going into 8th grade, but the school is grades 7-12. I have the slightest idea of what it's like to go to a prep school. What is it like? How are the people? Does any one have any tips?

Ten points best answer, thanks a lot! :)

  1. I used to go to a Catholic Private school. It's very closed in, but there's always at least one person who will show you the ropes. Most of the people I knew were pretty nice. The classes are a bit harder and the chances are that you'll have classes with most of the same people. The rules are a bit stricter, too. As for tips, just do your best and try to make friends. If you don't seem closed off, people will approach you. And most of all, just have fun.

  2. Hi Allis

    I'm your fellow friend Princess

I go to Liberty Christian Academy a private school in Columbus, Ohio. Private schools are great. No, you don't get into fights but it's possible that you can. It's a lot different from a public school. Most things that goes on in public school are most likely not to happen in a private school. If your nervous about the making friends thing don't be. Be yourself and some one will ask to be your friend. The people are just regular old kids. Teachers can be strict and you mess up once out the rules off to the principles office, You mostly don't get many warnings. So sit back relax and ENJOY THE RULES! That's all. Take from me a private school veteran.

  3. Your school will probably have an open house where you can learn the layout and meet people as well. To make friends just be yourself. A prep school will just be more structured and less chaotic like your other school. It will soon be routine . Take a deep breath and remember that. Hope it goes well!
