I'm starting a program for preschoolers about baking?

Question

This program deals with teaching preschoolers kitchen safety and having fun making and baking treats.

I need ideas on the program

-Should i conduct a needs assessment?

-What kind equipment will you need to run this program?

-how much should i spend on promotion?

-do i need liability insurance?

-how many staff members do I need..I'm thinking one main person and than an assitant.

-what kind of qualifications should i be looking for staff.

well a needs assessment is neccessary. Maybe you could contact  a local daycare and ask to do a survey on its parents at pick up time. You would need regular child friendly equipment, but in order for a child to bake, the parent would have to be available. get small bowls and spoons, and keep the curriculum simple. Dont spend anything on promotion. Seek free promotion at Daycares, They might allow you to hand out flyers if ur willing to do a demonstration, or trade promotion. liability insurance is a must. ur working with kids and hot stuff, expect accidents. If u are working with preschool kids, you wouldd need that many staff persons for up to 7 kids. ( chek ur state guidlines). look for people who are used to working with children. Include food safety training in the training process.

Ti's a great idea.

1)Take liability insurance.

2)Advertise it by small attractive pamphlets.

3)One manager and two assistants are sufficient.

4)Equipment-

                         Set levels (teach them like this).

                          i) Introduce them with toy ovens,cooking table,gas-kits etc.

                          ii) Then teach them to make cakes in real ovens.

                          iii)Give them a good recipe book as prize if they excel and a cooking hat or gloves of golden-coloured fabric or silver-coloured fabric according to level.
