Question:

I'm starting soccer this week, what should I do about my piercing?

About five or six months ago, I got an industrial piercing--it's been healing nicely, and there haven't been any complications or infections. Today, I'm starting soccer practice, and on Saturday we have our first scrimmage. We're not allowed to wear metal piercings, but I was wondering if I put in two plastic gauges, would I be okay, or do I have to take everything completely out? I mean, I've heard that if you take out this type of piercing for even a little bit, it can start to close up.

Please help!

  1. the coach will make you remove them.  in addition any ref will require it to be removed.  no bandages, plastic gauges, etc...../

  2. i have my ear pierced and i play rep.

i got it pierced about 1 week ago and oyu hav to leave it in for 1 mnth.

so i jsut tape it with electrical tape.

    it works =]

  3. take them out, or cover them with tape, bondage or whatever you call it

  4. just take out any jewelry before you play and wrap it or something

  5. take em out nd never put em bak in!!!! trust me

  6. Plastic (acrylic) is safe to wear for short periods of time. There's also Bioplast (highly recommended) and quartz (not recommended). bodyartforms.com has a variety of styles and materials to choose from with great prices, or your piercing shop can help you out. If you go with Bioplast you can get a piece of it and cut it to the size you need and just wear that and the balls will s***w on to keep it in. You have to remember that switching it from the barbell to the retainer a lot is really not a good idea and will cause a lot of irritation, especially since it's not fully healed yet. Getting Bioplast and just leaving it in for the season is probably your best option.
