I'm going to start to babysit two kids that go to my church. There is a 3 year old girl, she is sooo sweet and there is a 5 or 6 year old boy, he's really quiet and a little shy. Their parents were my bible school teachers so i know them pretty well. What are some really fun things to do with these two kids? My brother might play video games with the boy.. but what are some things we can all do together? Their parents say they can get into fights sometimes but overall they are good.

Thank you!

  1. If you are old enough to drive...

    Take them to the zoo

    A playground

    Pool/water park

When I babysit: we always do those things or play sports. (I baby sit for a 4 yr old and a 7 yr old most of the time and other ages as well...one time I baby sat a 1 yr old with a 5 yr old which was hard cause I had to pay tons of attention to the yound one and the 5 yr old was whining sooo much!)

    Peace and good luck!

  2. Normally when I babysit kids like that, they think of ideas on their own. But if they don't, play a board game or read a book with one of them, if they want to.

  3. well i babysit a 1 year old indian girl who is turning 2 in december and i have this old princess castle that she likes to go in and play peak a boo in she likes to play with baby dolls and stuffed animals for a boy i have a neighbor and he likes to play video games and play with toy guns so they might like that but i dont know wat the rules are for the parents if the boy isnt allowd to play with guns

  4. i have been babysitting for a couple yrs and i have dealt with some who are very hard to handle. the lil girl will love it if you pretend to b her big sis and play dolls with her. they love to role play and things like that.  do each other's hair, or let her play dress up. or she can be the mom and you be the daughter.they also love to play school.anything when they can be the old one in charge makes them happy lol.

lil kids also love to play simon says. i dont know why but that was the only way for me to get 3 lil boys to calm down!

and they love to draw and color. tell them to make something for their parents.

i know you dont want to pull out all their toys because thats just more to clean  up so take only a couple out at a time and put the ones back that they arent using.

good luck because taking care of kids is very tiring.i used to get exhausted and have migraines because playing all day is hard to do especially when kids are so loud sometimes. dont feel bad for having a down time.put on a movie or one of their fave shows. and nap time is very important! they act sooo much better when they get a little bit of rest. they might not want to but they should.

  5. if there is a back yard available i would suggest a nature hunt get the kids outside.  or crafts lots of crafts .  ask the kids what they want to do as well.  if you are old enough maybe ask the parents if it would be alright to take the kids to the park or go for a bike ride.

  6. well u could just have fun and let them do there own thing do exactly what they want to do and u should be fine =]

  7. how about a scavender hunt?

Arts and crafts is fun too.

    board games?

  8. I love this age! I was just a counselor at a camp for 8 weeks for 3-5 year olds. Piggyback rides are always good. Both the girls and the boys at my camp enjoyed building w/ blocks and lincoln logs. I'm not sure if they like making art projects so much, b/c our art teacher was very strange... The boys generally didn't like coloring though. And they loved Star Wars. Try making bracelets w/ pipe cleaners and big pony beads. Just show them how to thread it on and they'll be set. Is there a playground nearby that the parents would allow you to take the kids to? If so, they love swinging. Inside the house, you can play cops and robbers, and other imaginary games they create. At camp, our kids were fond of pretending all the counselors were sharks, and if you went down by them, you got eaten by the sharks. Hope I helped!

  9. go out to wallgreens or some place that would have coloring books and buy coloring books and colored pencils. kids love to color.

my babysitter used to do that all the time when i was little and i loved it. she had a whole bag full of them.

go online and look for arts and crafts that arent too messy.

play outside on nice days, maybe go to the park if there's on near or if you can drive.

if you can drive take them to get ice cream or to the pool maybe!!

you can call their mom and ask them what movie they love that they dont have and you can rent it from blockbuster.

call the mom also and ask what they like to do so you can bring over stuff if needed...parents love when you ask questions. then they know that you are interested in really having fun with their children.

dont forget to ask any questions you're thinking when you get there and once the kids go to bed if you're bored, straighten up their house! i got so much extra money doing that (: it was awesome.

    HOPE THIS HELPS!

  10. Hi,

You could make a treasure hunt but since the older boy will be more advanced you need to think this through.  For example, you could hide pink treasures (just a few in easy to hide places) and blue ones for the boy (in harder places) that they have to find to win a prize (small toy or sweetie).  You could cut out pink hearts for the girl and blue car shapes for the boy in card to be the 'treasures' they have to find.

Also, you could make a picnic together (e.g. bake cakes letting the kids do various little tasks and decorate them to help - even little boys often enjoy this) then pack a football, a kite, blow bubbles, frisbee etc. and head to a park and have a fun day eating and playing.

Feed the ducks if youre lucky enough to live near a park that has them?

Or take a walk and go exploring together.

You could get a whole bunch of craft things together and spend the day painting and decorating things and you could be very imaginative here about what tasks they could have.

Set up a tent in the house using sheets and let them use their imaginations.

Set up a mini sports day in the garden with different tasks for each of them appropriate to their age and then give them home made medals - they will be really chuffed!

Make a little stage using sheets and lamp lights/make a sign for the stage by decorating card, then put together some little performances such as make up a dance with the girl and have the boy practice something he likes, all do dances together etc. then put on a show for his parents or film yourselves doing it if you have a camera

Kids love taking photos so if you have a couple digital cameras head out with them and let them take pictures of everything - my three year old loves doing this!  You can use disposable cameras which are cheap as well then go get them developed in the 24 hour service.

  11. usually they tell you what they wanna do =)

  12. bring a big box of crayons, paper and u should be set for a while. if u draw pictures with them usually little girls love that!!

play "story" it when one person says a world each for the story like.

Once and then another and other and when someone says "the" and someone else says "end" then the story is done really fun!

    hope I've helped!

  14. um i guess you can let them both chase you around lol

    or watch cartoons withem

  15. Anything outside is fun!

Take them to a local playground, play hide-and-go-seek, or any other outside games.

Also, board games and arts and crafts are fun to do too.

When the kids get into fights, try to distract them from what they are arguing about.

  16. let them do what they want within limits.

  17. board games

    indoor games

    educational games

    video games

    hide and seek

    carom

    ludo

  18. There are those exercise songs or action songs where you move parts of your body. Kids like that.

  19. play monopoly jr. or other board game. my 2 cousins (one's 5 and one's 2) loves them. :)

  20. Do craft read them a story, put cbeebies up on the computer, let them watch telle, play a board game? Is that good or do you need more?
