I'm starting to get into nascar, who should i root for my favorite driver??

who should i root for and why??

Two time Champion Jimmie Johnson.

He is a great driver and a good guy.

Did I mention he is also easy on the eyes?

Without a doubt Jimmie Johnson.  He has a chance to make history this year if he wins his 3rd championship in a row.  If you are sort of a rebel and want to get on somebody's bandwagon BEFORE everybody else does go with Denny Hamlin.  He is an awesome driver but will probably not win Mr. Congeniality.  With as young as he is he you will have a lot of time to cheer him on as he wins races and championships down the road.

You should root for Carl Edwards. He's a nice guy, a good driver, and does backflips off his car when he wins.

Anybody but Earnhardt, unless you dont want to be an individual like the rest of the so called nascar fans.  Just watch and see whom sticks out to ya.  Then pick a fav.

That's along the same lines as letting your friends pick you out a girlfriend, you don't do that. Watch it a while and figure out who YOU like, not who someone tells you to like.

You can listen to suggestions, but it won't work. Everyone has drivers that they like or hate. You need to find your own driver so that you don't get biased opinions. I myself like all drivers, just not their actions at times.

ive been watching nascar since the early 60;s there are lots of good drivers i like most all of them and i hate to see same driver win over and over i like good hard close racing i dont get any of there money so i ussually go for a chevy driver but it dont matter as long as the racing is good  check out my site at www.racersreunion.com/chargincharlieputz...

They are all pretty much good guys...........Watch for a while, listen to some interviews and you can usually decide which one to pull for.

Maybe where they are from is something to consider..........

You should really watch for awhile and see who appeals to you. I like Jeff Gordon, he's been my driver ever since he started as a Nascar driver.

I just started to and one of my favorite things to do is watch the Teams as a whole (gibbs,hendrick,etc) I like to see how they finish as a team and how they handle other team mates when racing.  My driver is Jeff Gordon right now.  He needs his first win.

Sometimes it's easier not to have a favorite driver. That way you can just have a handful that you like and you can have t-shirts, hats, and other items of those drivers. So if one of them changes their number, sponsor, or both, you can still wear your other stuff that's still current until you get some new stuff. My favorite is Dale Jr and he changed his car owner, number, and sponsor last year and I'm still trying to replace stuff. (When I was in high school my room was decked out in Dale Jr so you can imagine how much I've got of his old stuff!)

Root for anybody except  for Tony Stewart and the Busch brothers. They are great drivers they are just really hot headed.

The best suggestion is to watch for a few races. Pick one or more that you respect for on track and off track ability. Some of the popular favorites are Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr. etc. I like Ryan Newman, I have liked him since he came into Nascar but really started to follow him since his rookie year in 02. I also like some of the "old guys" in the sport, Mark Martin, Bobby Labonte etc and some new kids like David Ragan (really down to earth kid). Some choose their driver based on sponsors, interviews, on track performance, car make and or team. Out of the 35+ regulars their is bound to be one or more that stand out to YOU! But most important have fun watching!

Lenny D has the best answer. I picked Jeff Gordon because I thought his car was the coolest. I admit that isn't a great reason, but I watched a couple of races and knew he would stay my favorite driver.
