I'm staying in Austin, Texas for college... where can I look up for upcoming events in Austin?

something small like local band and where they are playing to major artists/bands concerts,football games, famous comedians.

if there's a place that will let me know these events are happening, like a website or a free magazine(like back in Houston, it was the Houston free press).

you should look on school website, i go to iu and they have a website which tells you about all of the happenings going on around campus.

Here in Austin, it is the Austin Chronicle. A new issue comes out every Thursday, and you can pick one up outside of any restaurant or coffee shop. You can also check out the listings on their website. www.austinchronicle.com

Another option is the Austin XL which comes out weekly in the Austin American Statesman. While it is not as popular as the chronicle, it generally has most of the same major event listings.
