I'm still needing help understanding him.?

I've asked several questions but still have one more....Ok so the other day when me and my boyfriend were fighting I said something like if you are seeing someone else then its ok....in my defense he said something like that when I was texting my male friend before.....do you think this is the reason he's said the things about needing to find himself and that he needs a big stress reliever?

i guess the relationship is stressful for him, that he's not getting what he want in the relationship or not seeing the relationship he used to imagined.. well im not certain because guys are really hard to understand..sometimes :(
