I keep hearing that Catholics aren't, Protestants aren't, Baptists aren't..I can list on and on and on and on and on...so mainly, who in the h**l are the real Christians? Are they hiding under rocks or something? Because if a Christian does something bad the whole Christian community seems to disown him, and they then fight amongst themselves for who's right...so who's the "true" and "real" Christians? I'm really confused here...

  1. Both Catholicism & Orthodoxy are, as they both have Apostolic Succession.

  2. In my opinion, true Christians are people who follow the teachings of Jesus.  This would cover all denominations of Christianity.

  3. It doesnt matter if you are Baptist, Catholic, methodist or Lutheran ect ect

If you dont have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you will go to h**l.

No one gets to the Father but through Jesus.

Denominations are man made and therefore not even required. They are used only to identify which style of Christianity you prefer but the bottom line is having that personal relationship and having Christ in your heart. God knows your heart better then you do, so you  better ensure that he is there. It's really simple to do, just pray and ask him to enter your heart and WHAM! your a child of God and you will have your name written in the book of life and you will enjoy heaven forever. You have to mean it however, and repent of your sins which means you need to turn from them....so what happens if you s***w up and go towards your sin...YOUR FORGIVEN! just ask to be forgiven, keep trying. we are all sinners and therefore stuck in it but that doesnt mean that we cant attempt to live a perfect life.

    Have a good one

  4. The Christians are those who believe with all their heart that Jesus died for their sins and was resurrected for their justification and confess that with their mouth are true Christians....Then they must continue on to follow the examples that Jesus set when He walked the earth.....But in all their getting they must get understanding

  5. Those that are born of the water and the Spirit.  Those that follow after Christ.  Those that live Holy.  Those that love the Lord God with all their heart, mind, and soul.  Those that love their neighbors as themselves.  Those that pray for those who spitefully use them.  Those that believe that Jesus died for their sins, was buried and rose on the third day. Those that believe the Jesus is coming back for his church.  Those that do the work of the Lord.  I can go on and on and on...

  6. your dilemma comes from the fact that all christians think that their religion is the one true religion.... my family when I was growing up said that baptists were the only true christians... it's just all bull hockey.  ;)  if you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, and yadda yadda, and you call yourself christian, then you're christian.

    Catholic,

    protestant,

    lutheran,

    baptist,

    methodist,

    mormon,

ect. etc. etc. and the list goes on and on.... they're all christian.  They just might not think the others are.  ;)

  7. A CHRISTian is simply a Christ man. We believe in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that Jesus came here on the earth, in the flesh and died for all us sinners. That's all it takes to be a Christian, so many churches DO fall in that category, the catholic church being one of them. I don't know about the other churches for sure.

  8. A Christian is anyone who has accepted Christ as their savior.  I cannot say a Catholic or a Baptist is not a Christian.  I have been around alot of people and have never heard them say different denominations weren’t Christians.  We differ in how we interpret the word of God but that’s about it.  Well all believe in Christ, therefore we are all Christians.

  9. He is the one that died in Him and raised by Him.

  10. I don't think we will achieve salvation for the kind of church we attended every sunday. But by the mercies of God. We will never be holy here on this earth, cannot Jesus said there is only one Just, God. I don't care what kind of church you go to, i don't care how much money you make, or if you are poor or rich. Is how much you love God in the form of a human being that matters. Many people call themselves Christians but they hate, they are racist, they only care about themselves. If Jesus came today he would be very disappointed at his so called followers.

Because Jesus was nice to people, he was generous he was compassionate, and he gave his life for the most perverted man on earth. But we only want things for us, we don't care about the poor, we don't care for the people who are now suffering. For me A  Christian is the one who walks on Jesus steps doing what he did. He didn't base his ministry in ideologies and doctrines but in compassion and love.

    we should do the same.

  11. Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he suffered and died for our sins, that he rose from the dead, and that he will return, can call themselves Christian.

  12. There is a line from a christian song, christians do the most damage to their faith than anyone else. It is sad but true. My policy is that my faith is christianity and my religion is the way I practice it. As far as being a christian; I am one. I love everyone. I am required to in my faith. I don't have to like their behaviour, associate with those that are not good for me and I don't judge others. I am not perfect, by no means. I am not required to be. That is what is so wonderful about my faith, God loves me for trying. As far as the religious factions fighting all the time. Well, God will work it out eventually. That is what faith is all about. Jesus loved and helped others without condemnation, we should all strive to be that way. By loving first and teaching through example his followers grew and has kept on growing.

  13. It is the 'one' who is truly Born Again and believes in The Holy Inerrant Word of God/The Bible, The Holy Triune GodHead, the sharing of His Good News/The Gospel.  (Living a godly life/seperate, set apart from this 'worldly system', but going through this 'worldly system' and helping and loving others.)  Pure Religion:  James 1:27 as well.

  14. Sadly they have been dead for thousands of years. These people know very little about Christianity, they just use it's power as a tool to get what they want.

  15. Christians will and should never knowingly make you feel disowned.  I am a non-denominational Christian.  In the bible, it says, "If you believe that God created Jesus (who died on the cross) to symbolize that all of our sins are forgiven, you are saved!"  Understanding and believing are two separate things, though.  This concept is the basis of Christianity, and it's what I believe.  God WILL bless you!

  16. Every positive (as in affirmitive) philosophy branches out into a variety of factions once interpretations change.

Ask a straight up Marxist vs. a Stalinist Communist who the real Communist is.

Or even better, go pop into on of the political conventions going on and ask who is the real Democrat or Republican or who is a DINO/RINO.

Heck, this happens even amongst us Atheists.   The debate is less about who is the "real" atheist though (since we all affirm the non-existence of god).   Its about the type of actions that come out of it.   Some of us are the "loud and proud" types who berate all fence sitting quietists.  Others take up Sam Harris' line to be polite and conversationally intolerant without the Ego Drive that the "loud and proud" folk have.

We're still less susceptible to this than the Christians, because by thinking in the negative, we are simply stating something to be not true.  There are no immediate consequences as opposed to a positive philosophy - like the whole "saving souls" business.

Its when we marry atheism to an agenda like the French Revolution or Communism, where it acts as a Component of a much larger scheme, do we end up like close to them in accusatory statements of who is "real" and who is not.

  17. The ppl who trust Christ for salvation.I'm one.

  18. A real Christian is someone who has Jesus in their heart.  They can be Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, etc.  Their denomination doesn't make them true, their life and their actions do.  Going to church every Sunday doesn't make you a Christian unless you are living your day to day life for Christ.
