I'm leaning toward gold and cream, but the table is still open for other ideas.

  1. Ivory linens with gold accents would work, crystal candle holders with ivory/cream candles, and gold-painted fruits as centerpieces.

  2. Think about what flowers you want to use.  I chose lilacs and yellow roses for my wedding and used light purple and yellow as my colors.  It was really pretty!

  3. well look at wyhat colors the venue is, you dont ahve to match but you dont want to clash.

    what does your fiance like?

what colors would look good on your attendants?

if you like gold and cream them add a bold color to them to pop like a wine, burgundy, deep purple or something to add color!

  4. Choc brown and baby pink, dats my colours, don't sound right but they actually look really good together!

    In my opinion anyway!

  5. Do you have a particular theme, or a season for your wedding? Gold and cream to me would be kind of bland. I would use the gold with another rich color like chocolate, wine, or turquoise.

  6. Gold and cream is not bad. It's a classic look.

I think cream and brown was very popular this year.

Personally if I hadn't chosen, black, pink and ivory I would have gone with lavender, ivory and silver. It looks so nice together.

Like the other posters have said. You have to pick according to your personalities. If you are unsure go to the crafts store and play with the ribbons. Sometimes it's easier if you see things in person. Also bear in mind that sometimes a color combination might sound weird but it still works.

  7. What time of year is the wedding?  If it is in the spring or summer colors are lighter and more pastel. If it is in the fall or winter the colors are darker reflecting the seasons.

Look at Bridal magazines....  Consider your favorite colors.....Consider the season.........Visit the bridal stores to get ideas.

  8. Gold and cream would be horrible.  They are too close in color and shade.  Now, cream is a marvelous color, and the colors that go with cream would be forest green or rose.

  9. Maybe take into consideration some other aspects - such as the time of the year for your wedding. Those sound like Fall colours to me. Or maybe a wedding with a vintage theme? Have you got a favourite flower in mind? Sometimes if you have a certain flower in mind you can base the wedding colours around that. I think cream and gold go but you need a third colour to complement it.

  10. I would really need more info about you and your hubby-to-be's personalities. That should determine what colors you pick. Also, what time of year will the wedding be?

Acutally gold and cream can TOTALLY work. I did a wedding recently that had gold and a light tan/dark cream color. It was beautiful! The bride made it pop with flowers that really stood out, but connected it all. :)

One other poster said gold/choc brown. That is also a great look. Would work better for a fall wedding, I agree. Also more interesting to find pretty flowers when going with such a rich color scheme.

  11. How about using another brighter or darker color with the gold and cream?  Maybe a red, green, blue, or brown would liven it up a bit.  You could incorporate this into the centerpieces and bouquets just to add a bit of color.

  12. I'm doing gold and cream, with navy blue as an accent color.

I was not crazy on color schemes, it just kind a happen that way with the other elements involved.

    Good luck

  13. Look at some bridal magazines to help you decide.  Color is a personal thing.  So getting other people's choices sounds like a bad idea to me.

  14. What the first poster said, plus - what time of year will the wedding be? And in what venue? And is there a theme??

  15. I agree with the first poster, it depends on your personalities and the vision you want.  I think it could definitely work, more so for a more formal look.

Do you have the venue booked?  Sometimes you can get ideas from the decor that is already available.
