  1. Yes, there are plans out there that will cover you in the event that a natural disaster makes your destination uninhabitable.  Best place to find them is on a travel insurance comparison site like http://www.quotewright.com

  2. I would consider trip cancellation insurance and international medical insurance. I recommend http://www.imglobal.com/?CFID=5536438&CF...

Check out the Patriot Trip insurance.

  3. With 100s of  flights being canceled every day, vacation insurance is much more attractive than it was in the past. If you are booking through an agent, they will be able to explain different options to you to insure the package. If you are booking on your own, look on the site you are booking through for options. If you don't find one, call their toll free number and ask.

I have only purchased the insurance through the travel agent I bought tickets through, so I don't know any independent insurance brokers that handle this.

Good Luck! (And hope for the GOLD!)

  4. You really should, eslpeciallly for China.  I would also focus on the details of your travel visa as the visa regulations are extreemely strict now.  http://z-visa.com
