I'm taking Amtrack from Chicago to New Orleans soon. Anyone ridden in their sleeper cars lately?

Lots of people ride in their sleeper cars - otherwise they'd stop running them!

I did a couple of years ago. The track on the first night was really rough - enough to wake you up. It wasn't so bad the next morning.

Food on that train is great, especially as they now have 24 hour dining, and chef usually adds his own "pizzazz".

Watch out on the left as you approach NO. You'll go around the longest continuous railway curve in the world, around Lake Ponchartrain. Watch out for the wildlife and the fisherman shacks!

"The City of New Orleans."  Great train and yes, I ride it and other AMTRAK Superliners a lot. You will love it.
