I'm taking a Princeton Review Practice SAT Test...

What's the best way to prepare? It's only a practice test and I'm fourteen, but I want to be ready for it. I've already taken the real SAT for John's Hopkins CTY and I didn't do that great. (Not like I really tried.) I actually want to see if I can get a good score, like 600 on each section. And please don't say stuff like do practice tests in the SAT test books blah blah. I've done that before. Okay thanks :)

  1. The best way to prepare for the SAT (or the ACT) is to take difficult classes in high school, especially Math, English, and Science classes. This really is the best way to prepare.

For instance, I took the PLAN test (a practice ACT) in 10th grade and if predicted I would get around a 26 (out of a possible 36... like you, I didn't try too hard). All the classes I took in 9th and 10th grade were advanced... but they were not challenging at all. In 11th grade, I once again took the highest classes offered (3 AP classes, a CIS class, and two advanced classes), but this time, they were actually hard. I learned so much that year, and when I took the ACT, I got a 34. I can't be certain, but I would say that I got such a high score because of the classes I took junior year.

If you were hoping for short-term preparation, the best way to study for either test is to buy a study guide, take a practice test, identify your weak points, and then use the study guide materials to improve those weak points.

    Good luck!
