  2. Have you ever thought of taking a Mediterranean cruise-Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, etc.,.  It is great.  You fly over to get your ship.

  3. I went on the Legend from New York during the summer of 2005.  It was 8 nights, and went to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Tortola.  The major negative about that itenerary is that you spend two whole days at sea going down, and travelling back.  You can only go to the casino soo many times!

The ship was nice, and the staff was incredibally friendly.  Food was actually pretty good.  If you like Soda, get the unlimited card which allows you to drink as much soda as you want.  If you have four people in your party, get it for two, and have them get the soda, as they let you get a soda each time you go the bar or wherever.

Departing from NY was a pain in the butt.  It took over 30 minutes after getting the boarding cards to wait in line to get the picture taken for the boarding.  The locations we visited we rather useless to me, but I guess I just have been in the Caribbean too many times.  I need to go somewhere else.

The major negative was when we left Tortola for NY, about an hour out of Tortola, the ship tipped 14 degrees to port.  Nobody was seriously hurt, but it was rather scary!  Alot of water spilled over the edge of the deck.

Would I cruise Carnival again?  Probably not because Royal Caribbean seem more "polished" to me.  I was in a pretty large room (the second largest on the ship), and they did nothing for me in terms of amenties.  OTOH I just took a four night RC cruise out of LA, and every night they gave us bags, snacks, etc. and I was in an Ocean View room.
