I'm taking intro to modern western civilization next semester!?

Question

i love history but im more into ancient! this professor however was so good that i decided to take him again its just i dont know what the class will consist of! he has yet to tell us what book we need, can anyone give me a brief ,as possible, what topics the class may cover and maybe and on-line site to get info from! And i just mean topics like for Example: 1. Rise of the Bzyantine Empire, A. Constantine: Constantinople

Most western civilization classes are divided by the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).  The modern class usually takes place at beginning of the war.
