Comfortable clothes -- jeans, sneakers.  Be prepared to be surrounded by thousands of screaming girls.  You may want to wear a helmet and shoulder pads.

Jeans and a cute top are appropriate. I went to a taping of AI and everyone was really casual (expect Paula). Give your step-daughter the chance to 'ok' your outfit & you'll look great!

trust me you are going to want to be comfortable.  depending on if it is inside or outside it could get really hot and you will be stand for long periods of time.  Also, get you teen to help you find something if you are worried about embrassing her in anyway
