Question:

I'm taking my drivers test Tuesday?

Are there any tips out there? I'm a good driver and feel fine about the test but I really have to pass the first time since I'm heading off to college and can't have people taking me. I've practiced maneuverability as well and I'm pretty good at that (but the cones I used were too low to even see).

What are things that you had points docked for doing? Or that the instructor told you not to do/ to do? I am trying to cover all my bases because I do not want to fail. My eldest sibling failed a couple times, whereas my sisters went somewhere else and both passed. I'm going to a completly different place so I really don't know what to expect. How hard are they on "grading" you?

Any advice/tips are very much appreciated and I'll let you all know how it went.

  1. Pray! Lol, no, its really not that hard, I was just dumb. Lets see, the first time I did the whole test perfectly then right before the end the instructor told me to stop. I did and she told me that I had passed and all I had to do was finish the course and park. She had told me to stop about a foot from a stop sign, so I got excited and considered that stop the stop sign stop... then she told me I should have stopped at the stop sign line and failed me. The second time, I forgot to undo the parking break before pulling away when the instructor got in the car. I also just couldn't parallel park because I was so nervous. They failed me on that. The third time, I crashed. Yes, crashed. I was parallel parking and backed up over the cone, over the curb, and into the guard rail. Yes, I failed. Fourth time, I passed. So from this experience we learn... 1. stop at stop signs. 2. know how to parallel park and don't forget the parking break. 3. don't crash! Also, make sure you exagerate your motions. When you are at the stop signs, make sure you slowly look left, right, then left again before you go. And make it really obvious that you are doing it. Make sure to check your mirrors too. Good luck!!
