I'm teaching science tomorow about how flu is transmited and i want to do it with sweets can i have some ideas

I really dont know what sweets to use or how to use it becasue it needs to be more exciting becasue kids get bored easily please answer as im in a desperate situation Thank you

take the lesson as normal (some things just can't be made interesting) but tell them there'll be a little quiz at the end and whoever does the best will win sweets - you don't want to give them the sweets in class - they'll get sugar highs and get even more distracted!!!   If you tell them they'll be in teams to i think that would help motivate them as they'd want to do their class mates proud/not let the team down.   it's great you are so enthusastic for your class though....see this, all about teacher appreciation (which you most definately deserve!) http://www.teacher-appreciation.info

What I would do is buy a whole bunch of chocolate - some hershey kisses, some dove bars, some M&M's, etc.  I would pass them around and I would say that these all represent different mutations of the flu and how innoculating against one is not going to fight off another.

You could also have them cut holes in sheets of paper in the various shapes of candy - saying that these represent the bodies immune system to the flu.  The flu (candy) that can get through the shapes cut in the paper are the ones that the body can defend against.

Do it with m&m make blue the flu and dont tell them then tell them to go get m&ms just like trading

show how that a lot of virus' need to get into the body and force feed someone with sweets, but then make them spit them out and tell everyone that if they caught flu, it'd be like eating one of those sweets :P
