I'm a dancer and I dance about 12 hours a week or so, and I always hurt. My body aches so badly all the time. It gets worse in rainy weather too. I take A prescription medicine I take called Meloxicam. I'm supposed to take one every night but lately it hasn't helped so i take 3 a day, it seems to help but now I seem to pop these pills all the time. When I hurt, when i'm upset, hungry, tired, or just bored. I'm getting addicted and i need advice on how to stop before it gets even worse. By the way nobody knows I'm doing this, because I have not told an adult.

  1. Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, in saying that I am saying there is probably little physical dependence wit the drug, this is a good thing considering some times getting over an addiction, can be troublesome due to physically painful withdrawal symptoms..however, your situation presents some medical issues that you dealing with your pain, I would suggest talking to your doctor and telling him your issues with this medication and your pain problems, try to get into some kind of therapy, it will help, but more so would be to get out of pain in a another way...

Start off be slowly reducing your daily dose and then get your doctors advice on the rest....

  2. i know this isn't the answer you may want but its probably best. it is time to see a doctor. you do not have to live in pain. but they cant help you if you don't go

  3. That's really weird that you dance so much and yet you are still sore...

I've been dancing for 15 years and for a lot longer than 12 hours a week. I would dance 7 days a week for 3-4 hours. I was never sore.

First, you should talk to a doctor because you shouldn't ache all the time, and more so in rainy weather..? There might be something else wrong with you that you might need to know about.

Secondly, you should tell someone about this. When a medication "stops" working it's because your body gets used to it. My boyfriend has really bad headaches and would take Tylenol every day for a few times a day, and they stopped working because his body got used to them.

You should really just stop on your own. You obviously know you're doing something wrong. And you should tell someone so they can make sure you don't take them anymore.

  4. Taking an overdose of prescription drugs are really bad. Specially after heavy workout.Meloxicam is a slow absorbing drug and overdosing it may damage liver and kidney.

Meloxicam is licensed in Europe for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, for short term use in osteoarthritis and for ankylosing spondylitis.

Please visit your GP as you may need medical help and counselling immediately.
