  1. Well, you have to ask yourself, what do YOU want to be doing in the military? Both the Army and Navy offer wide range of jobs within the branch. The benefits are pretty much the same. However, some specialty ratings/mos in the Navy pays more bonuses than the Army at the moment : Navy EOD/ SEAL/ NUC (Nuclear) pay the most at $40k for 6 yrs. ND (Navy Diver)/ SWCC pay $35k for 6 yrs.

So first, decide what you want to do; then, do some research into what branch will give you the best choice.

  2. The Army.  Plus they pay more for your college funds.

  3. If it's for the money, don't do it. The military doesn't need idiotic people joining for benefits then when they go to war they join groups like Vets Against the War and go off and make stupid movies like Stop-Loss because they didn't read their contract.

  4. The Navy has special programs that each pay more money.

I served onboard subs. So I qualified for most of the extra pays and allowances. 'base pay' was commonly one quarter of my paychecks.

Base Pay, Sub Pay, Sea Pay, Female Seperation Pay, BAQ, BAS, Sea Pay Kicker, Career Sub Pay, Pro Pay, all combined along with the annual installment payments on my SRB, averaged $65k annual income.

    'lowly' enlistedmen make good $ $ $

And I was tax exempt for 16 years continously. So no money came out from my pay for taxes.

Because I made these extra pays, I was able to invest in apartment buildings at each of my duty stations. When I retired I had collected four properties, which each produce an annual income for me.

So after 20 years in the Navy when I got my pension, I retired.

How many Army soldiers can truly invest enough to build a portfolio, and retire after 20 years? It would be far more difficult to do when you only get paid 'base pay'.

  5. AIR FORCE & NAVY for training

    ARMY & MARINES for killin
