  1. The following cruise lines are offering New England/Canadian sailings:

    - Carnival

    - Royal Caribbean

    - Holland American

    - Princess

    - Celebrity

    - Crystal

    - Cunard (Queen Mary 2)

    Most of these cruises are in the 6 to 9 night range, but some go up to 12 plus nights.  The pricing runs the range from economy to luxury, with Crystal and Cunard certainly being at the absolute top of the pricing tier - so I'll leave them out.

    To answer your question directly, if you're considering one of the 12-night cruises, my absolutely best recommendation would be Celebrity:

    - they won 6 of the top 10 positions in the Best Large Ship category

    - won highest rated Premium Cruise Line

    - took top 3 spots for Best Crew/Service

    - won all 4 Best Food/Dining rankings

    - top spot Best Cabins

    You don't get to this position by offering a less than first-class product. I'm confident that once you experience Celebrity, you'll be spoiled. Other cruise lines just don't match-up to the levels of service, attention to detail, quality of food and overall cruise experience.

    As far as the other cruise lines, having been on them all, I would rank them:

    #2) a tie between Holland America and Princess;

    #3) Royal Caribbean;

    #4) NCL;

    #5) Carnival

    One last piece of advice - go see a professional travel agent.  Their information is valuable and there is no additional charge for their service.

    Which every line you choose, I hope you enjoy your cruise.  It is our favorite way to vacation.  Bon Voyage!

  2. It is going to depend on a few things. Are you looking for a large cruise ship..then I would suggest Holland America or Princess. If you are looking for history also Princess has a wonderful land tour that takes you through VIrginia all sees all of the early American history there and then to DC and Philiadelphia before going on the cruise to New England and Canada. Cruise West and America Cruises do smaller ships and stop a alot of smaller towns the other ships cannot get to. If you are looking for something like that either one of them would work. If you plan do do any of this in 2007 you need to book soon because most of these cruises will sell out.
