i'm thinking about going to a community college for a while then to a university so i can save some money. how long should i stay at each of them? what should i major in both of them? and after i graduate from the university, what should i do? if you are an accountant, or if you know how to get there, whats the process?

  1. Dude.. I have to say... you inspire me... work on man, work on :)

  2. I'd say get your general education classes out of the way at the community college first, then transfer to save money.  That usually takes two years.  I think you can call yourself pre-business at the community college.

If you're going to be an accountant, you may also want to take review courses for the CPA tests once you're done.  I think they take maybe 5 tests in total.  Then you're ready to roll.

  3. There is a national exam for CPA certification. Pre-requisites vary by state, but generally a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a similar field, or if you find a school that offers it, in accounting, would be a minimum. Of course a slew of accounting and taxation classes are needed whatever your major.
