I'd like to have something that's sharp looking. What would y'all suggest and what would be the better motorcycle for me? And as for my body figure, I'm 6'0" and around 185lbs.

  1. If you looking for a good bike man go with something old and that is a solid bike now dont buy a POS, I just started riding this month my first bike was a 1982 Yamaha Virago 750 I love it. I thought maybe a 750 would be too fast but as long as your not an idiot u should be fine. I agree buy the gear I burnt the h**l out of my leg last week. Its going to be a mean scar If you want a Crotchrocket buy a Ninja 250cc your not very heavy so you should be fine, I wanted to pick one up but I am much too heavy I am 300 hundred lbs and I was advised against buying anything under 500cc. Shop around craigslist.org is great site to find something used and that will suit you

  2. Did you say sharp?

  3. do little kyle#2 and magz own a sportbike dealership er somethin?are they twins?

  4. Here's some tips

Harleys are very heavy and expensive- not welcoming to new riders. Especially the "entry" top heavy 883 Sportser.

a 1000cc sportbike will get you in trouble before you say "OH s**+..." nevertheless a 600cc sportbike

Stay with the Ninja 250R, Suzuki GS500F, or Ninja 500R

    Take the MSF safety course

Buy the gear- if not, try running into a brick wall as fast as you can. OK, now get on a bike and do it at 50 mph

  5. That's great.  See this guys on their bikes first:

Go into it informed and knowing the full dangers of riding. Don't get me wrong. I ride (since 1982).  But I've seen more than few people who get in to riding, then regret it severely after the first hospital visit.

    Good Luck...

  6. Think small  250 -500 CC and think Used. Almost ALL new riders drop their bike a couple of times in the first year. I highly recommend  getting into a MSF riding course as well.

  7. Buy a kawasaki NINJA 250.  106 top speed, sub-six seconds 0-60mph, and 70 mpg.

This thing is the pick of the litter, among 250s, it shares body work styling, with all the bigger Ninjas. Get it in Kawasaki green, people will SEE you.  And that's not to be sneered at either, not when being seen can mean life and death at the wheels of some stupid bozo, who pulled out RIGHT in front of you.

  8. Why worry about sharp looking to learn on? Chances are you'll drop it or someone will knock it over before you get your license. Get a used one that you don't care about and invest money in driving lights and riding gear. You want to be seen by blind people and protected from the inevitable crash. I dislike sport bikes but the consensus here is the Ninja 250 is a good bike. I personally like a cruiser but to each his/her own. We are about the same size so you'll fit almost anything to learn on. Give a couple to six months and THEN get that sharp bike and go out there and impress the ladies by staying alive and being smart. Remember, everyone out there except other bikers are trying to kill you!
