  1. There are some good clubs out there that just aren't the name brand Calaway or something like that when your paying extra for the name. Keep in mind still like anything else though, you do get what you pay for. Do some research and check out some golf magazine and they may recommend a good inexpensive club. You could also check out some of these discount golf stores that may sell last years model for super cheap but still pretty much the same club as these new ones.

  2. You get what you pay for.  I would look used before I looked clone.  Sometimes those clones are steel or some other alloy material, far inferior to titanium.  I would look used or even last years model.  Taylormade just dropped their R7 to $150 which is a great deal, maybe go to your local shop and demo that, but I would stear clear of all knock-offs.....  Callaway FT-3 used would be another nice driver on the cheaper side of things...

  3. Callaway is my personal preference but their are some good clones out there.

  4. Why not compromise and buy a nice used set of brand name golf clubs.  That is what I play with, and I didnt' spend a lot of doe on them.  I got a full set of Calloway X18 irons with three Fusion woods plus a White Odyssey putter all for less than 400.  Vs. paying 100-200 dollars for a new off brand set that you will regret buying a year or less later.
