  1. There is no such thing as an "easy to take care of lizard."

Each species has different requirements for heat; lighting; substrate; humidity, etc., and diet is a whole other issue.

If you had done some homework and googled "lizards as pets," you would have discovered that they require a lot of time, money, and care.

If you want an attractive tank for your nightstand (something which is aesthetically appealing and little work); you might want to reconsider and make a nice terrarium instead.  You can include a pool with your plants.  Once it's set up, it requires very little care to maintain, and there won't be the possibility of vet bills for a lizard which didn't get the proper care it needs.

Another option you might want to consider, once the terrarium is established and doing well, is the addition of a small frog (they are fairly simple to care for).

But, before you do anything - do your homework, and research the project!  Be informed, and know what you're getting into BEFORE you get into it.

Think about it.  Study it.  And good luck with your project.

I hope this has been helpful.

  2. your best bet would be with some kind of gecko. =)

  3. Lizards are not easy pets, I wan't you to research for at least a months, maybe 3 weeks for a gecko. A leopard gecko would be nice, but setting up the enclosure is the hard part, you need to get a hold of many things, and be careful with what you're feeding.

    Enclosure

I want you to get a 15-20 gal tank for one. Get a good, natural looking hiding place,I got this log placed a hloe and emptied the insides, so its like a house, but i had it boiled inboiled water to kill the bacteria and such, just make sure it's alone, a bow with an entrance is okay. As for a substrate, choose reptile mats, or Claci Sand. Get a dark colored light ( best is really dark blue ) use it to watch it at night. some moss for shedding and many more. ( research on it, expect everything )

    Feeding

Food can be a bit bigger than the head, smaller is better. Crickets, lobster roaches, and mealworms. Just research more on it.

  4. gecko

  5. Maybe a newt, or a gecko? Not many lizards I know of fare well in small tanks. Bearded dragons are great pets, and they are fairly easy to take care of, but they require a minimum of 50 gallon tank.

    good luck!
