Question:

I'm thinking about getting braces and have questions about the consultation

If I were to set up a consultation to see about getting braces what happens at the consultation? What kind of questions or whatnot does the dentist ask or talk about? Will they give me a price upfront if I decide to get them? Do I have to put a down-payment on the braces right then and there? Do they work with your income and insurance to come up with a reasonable monthly payment?

  1. They will talk to you (and your parents?) I think it takes more than one visit to establish a price. They will have to take pictures/molds of your mouth to see if you have an overbite/underbit/crossbite, and how much your teeth will need to be straightened. I'm pretty sure those weren't on first consultation. Just know that if you get braces, they will hurt and you can't eat solid food for practically a week after you get them on.

Good luck with your new smile!

  2. the dentist will look at your teeth tell u everything he has to do to get them straight like how long u got  to wear them how much it will cost it dont matter your income but if u do have insurance the insurance might pay some of it like the down payment or somthing like that and thats really about it at the consultation.. thats how it was when i got my braces and i had to pay 1,000 dollars down
