I'm thinking about going to Disneyland, can I dress up?

Question

I want to go to Disneyland with a friend of mine, and as a fun joke, dress up as Sora and Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Since Disney owns and is a large part of the game, we figured it would be fun to walk around in the costumes. Is there a dresscode guideline that says otherwise...?

Thats an FABULOUS idea! Yes and I've been to Disneyland a lot of times and I've seen millions of people wearing costumes. Unless they are under 9. Well I think you aren't so... In case you havent been there, its really fun

Unfortunately, Disney's policy is that only guests 9 or under may wear costumes into the park. They don't have an official answer on their site as to why, but if I were to give a guess, it's probably because Disney doesn't want guests to get confused as cast members (I remember reading once about how a couple of people dressing as Jack Sparrow was escorted off the property by resort police, but unfortunately, I don't have that story bookmarked).

The above answers about costumes allowed for guests under 9 are correct, that's the normal day policy...

However, they do allow adult guests in costume during the Halloween season. As it get closer to October, check the Disneyland website for dates for the Little Monsters trick-or-treat special.

Oh, and I wouldn't try to bring in the weapons, if you make those as well. Those they will confiscate no matter what/when.
