  1. joining a club is a good idea because they help yoiu with everything and make you so much better. i started playin in 7th grade and wasn't very good. i joined a cllub in 8th and made my jv team as a freshman. they help you out a lot. setting can be easily praticed at home, that's what i do, just have someone toss or set against a wall. bumping can be done the same way. hen you bump make sure you don't swing. use a even platform and drop your body with the ball. you your legs instead of arms to prevent swinging. Oh yea, when you set try your very hardest not to have your thumbs move inward. make a triangle in the air and spread your fingers out wide. i don't no much about hitting and how to help you with it. but i do no that you follow through straight instead of across your body. you want to snap your wrist to get topspin and make the ball go down with more force. also hit the side of the ball... not the top. you can have a tosser to toss to you and practice the strokes, it'd be helpful.

i hope i helped you out a little bit, good luck with your career and i hope you do great with or without a club.

  2. where extra short shorts

  3. You know the basics bump, set, & spike it. Serving.

Trust me when i went to my first open gym years ago.

I knew nothing about it and that it what you are there for to find out if this is the sport for you.

    Do you love it?

Well i fell in love with volleyball.

The coach will explain most of it to you.

Yeah there is more but you cant teach yourself it,well you could but then if you taught yourself wrong it is way harder to correct and re learn so just go to club volleyball and they will teach blocking, steps, types of serving  and the rest of it to you there.

    Hope you have fun!

  4. Thats how you get started, knowing nothing :-) When I was in the seventh grade I didn't know anything either so don't be upset if it takes you a while to get the hang of things. You have to take baby steps when learning to play and there is always room for improvement. Just make sure when you are out there playing you are having fun!!! join the club and see how you like it. also you can go to this website it looks interesting.... but you might get help from your coach.

  5. No offense... I think you might be better starting off in a volleyball camp or clinic (ask your school volleyball coach for some places where they offer it and when). Usually in club volleyball they expect you to know the sport already... it will be competative depending on what kind of club it is.

  6. Club volleyball would be perfect for you in school ball they don't really have time to explain the basics and work on the little details where as club volleyball does all of that and focuses on sharpening all of your skills

  7. Lol my lil sis is in 7th too. I have always loved volleyball. Don't worry your coach will explain it all. Just have fun and make some new friends. This is a great, fun, teamwork game. YOU'LL LOVE IT!

  8. Your school team,  Jr teams, camps etc.  are all opportunities to learn the sport.  Possibly even approach the local coach for advice.  He/she would know other opportunities.

  9. Ohh don't worry!! You'll catch on fast! Between your coach helping you and you're experienced team mates you will just get it in a snap! I hope you get good and have fun while your playing is the very most important thing!! I hope you have fun!

  10. a club?

you mean like a team kinda club or a for fun club

    there's a big diffrence

for the for fun kinda club you should be fine

for competition club it'll be diffrent

if you make the tryout you shold be fine too, since i didn't know rules of volleyball, just how to play, and i learned all the rules quite quickly in a club/team.

if you are not an exceptional player in volleyball, coaches look for effort, if you dive for every ball, spike every ball as hard as you can, etc. Coaches know that they can help those kind of players become better, so they will either take highly skilled players or players who show lots of promsise
