Question:

I'm thinking about moving to Ireland to live and work.?

Thing is, I have a degree and work in the media field. How difficult would it be to find a job in that field in Ireland? Also, even I though I am of Irish descent (full blooded), I can't apply for citizenship since my grandparents were not Irish-born. Would a company even want to bother with me?

Thanks

  1. come one over, the more the merrier!

  2. They've got heaps of well educated paddies and a new flood of eager workers from the new EU countries, so I wouldn't hope for much. But ask around. Call the relevant employers.

  3. Ireland has changed a lot.  The economy is booming and a number of non-EU citizens are finding work, so I think someone would bother with you!  Where are from btw?

Most media jobs will be in Dublin.  Unfortunately the boom has meant Dublin house prices have risen dramatically and a lot of strain has come on traffic etc.

Cork and Limerick would be cheaper but there won't be anywhere like the number of media jobs there.

Perhaps trying recruitment websites like irishjobs.ie might start to give you an idea?

    Cheers - and good luck!
