I am 20 years old with a succesful job and I currently live just outside London near Reading so I would like easy access back to see my friends and family etc. I am looking at areas around Hammersmith, West Ken but i suppose any where in London isnt difficult to get back. Has any one got any first hand experience of living in London, cost of living, crime rates, best areas etc. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. West Kennsington and Hammersmith and North Fulham have a developing gang problem. The area is not particularly pleasent.

I would suggest Ealing. Quite cheep but not verry central.

  2. All areas have there own issues in regards to crime, and on the whole London is not cheap. Islington, Hackney from personal experience are not bad areas to live in. Another factor is how much rent you want to pay. Renting a room or studio could cost you anywhere between £70-£140 per week. Take your time in deciding and have fun
