I'm thinking about moving to Richmond, VA; Pros and Cons, I from a small town in MS, but I need a change?

I need to know about the city, not just what I see on the internet, Is this a good place to relocate?

Richmond is a great city.

Pros: Nice neighborhood, great police system (not many crimes)

Nice and hot weather

Great sports facilities. Good country club for golf, swimming tennis, and more.

Cons: It gets hot in the summer. Hot.

Pros:

Richmond is a decent city.  It has some beautiful neighborhoods (the fan being the nicest), some great bars, resturants and the job market is good. Salaries are decent and the cost of living is quite low compared to other major cities.  

The weather is pretty decent....you can get coolish winters but no-where near as bad as the cities more to the North.

I really like Richmond!

Cons:

Like any city there are some pretty bad and run down areas of the city and suburbs.  It is quite sad to see but some of the downtown streets are pretty sketchy and I don't feel safe in some areas of downtown at night
