  1. It's a great city, but it can be lonely. Contact some of the clubs and get involved. You might like to take up a game like Duplicate Bridge. There are many fine clubs in Toronto. If you have questions I might be able to answer, drop me a line.

  2. there are a lot of ppl. who are homeless and beg for money, there are LOTS of things u don't see in the u.s. like huge malls...7 floors. take the subway or street car.

  3. sorry , now i m in canberra ...

  4. i live in Toronto  it is a good city but like other we are getting more shooting here due to gangs ... it is also an expensive city

IE rents, groceries, shops, so you need a good paying job to keep up

I am in no way trying to deter you from the city but its things you shud know about.....

email if you have any other questions

    hope I have helped you

  5. Just email me with any questions or if you need anything or any help when you get here......

  6. ya i can help you i live in toronto from last 15 years i know many people an arrange a job for you

  7. toronto is very multicultural. apart from the downtown, it has endless expanses of suburbs -- very boring and difficult to meet people in. on the other hand, the downtown is quite safe and friendly, and has a huge range of people. i recommend finding an apartment in a downtown neighbourhood like The Annex, Roncessvales (sp?), The Danforth, or anywhere near Yonge Street, south of Steeles (so you're on the subway).

www.viewit.ca is a way to find apartments. however, many require references and/or a deposit.

the TTC is the transit system. the subway is excellent, but there are only three routes. it's very helpful to live near a subway station. there are also busses, but these can be slow and confusing.

the "GTA" means Greater Toronto Area ... cities like Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering, these are all independent cities, but really there is a seamless connection with Toronto. They are very much suburbs of the main city today.

In July and August it can be 30 C or hotter -- very hot in the city with the pavement. Cooler near Lake Ontario. In January and February, it can be -10 or -15 C or cooler.

  8. Just email me if you have any questions, I know Toronto really well...

  9. I don't know much about Toronto too, but we always visit the place..I never heard bad comments about the place..I think it is a good place to live... big city too... hope you enjoy and meet more people out there...
