I'm a little unsure about this language and I kind of want to take it. But like I said, I'm not sure.

  1. i have been taking it since kindergarten on and off and i'm now going into grade 11. i like it. there are alot of verb tense you have to learn but i'm sure it is like that for most languages if not all. after a while you kind of recognize words and you won't even need a french english dictionary to see what they mean. i would at least try taking it. you never know, it could come really easy to you.

  2. Well, I've been studying French for 5 years now, and I love this language, even more than I love English.

Well, French isn't that difficult for a neo-latin language speaker.

I think an Englishman could have some more difficulties because of the genders (masculine and feminine).

But for me, it's worth learning.

  3. In my opinion, its rules are more consistent than those of English.  It will also contribute to a more thorough understanding of English, which may help you learn new words more quickly.

  4. well, french isn't necessarily the manliest language on earth. i wouldn't reccomend it if you are male.  but it's great if you want to talk **** about americans and you don't want them to understand.  if you learn, you have to also learn to speak while holding your pinky in the air and closing your eyes like you just don't care.  plus, you'll be able to order snails for dinner in the native language. also another important aspect of learning french is mastering the popcorn-stuck-in-my-throat sound. to pronounce je parle français, you would say ju pa' (now make a random gagging noise like you have popcorn in your throat) anzey! so that is one rule of pronunciation, the gagging noise.  the next aspect of french pronunciation is you have to talk with a snooty accent.  when you talk french it helps to tell yourself in your head 'i'm fwench and i am bettea than ze amewicaines!' and you will naturally sound snooty.  a snooty accent is very impressive in france.  you will really fit in with the natives!  so i discussed the french accent, anything else? ....no, that's about it.  remember: snooty, exagerated, sarcastic, arrogant, and popcorn noise!  buy some popcorn to practise!

  5. It's a very beautiful language that rolls easily off the tongue once you get the hang of it.

Some words are similar to English but many are not, and there is quite a large number of tenses for you to learn but once the basics of grammar are down pat it falls into place. They way they employ their tenses is similar to English too, so that's a bonus

All in all, learning French is quite like learning any other language - consistent practice and revision, but so worth it by the end. I have loved learning French.

  6. I have taken french for a few years and let me just say that it is very rewarding but you have to work for it. to be honest speaking more than one language is a really big plus and its worth the work. also it takes a lot longer to learn languages than other subjects because they take practice/repetition.  but french is so useful in other countries so its worth it.

  7. it works great with surrender
