I'm thinking about trying Firefox 3 Internet Browser. I always use Internet Explorer. Is this a good switch?

I don't know anything about Firefox 3 besides the name. I have always used Internet Explorer. Would I be making a mistake by downloading Firefox 3? Are there any bad things that have happened to anyone's computer after downloading this? Or should I just stay with Internet Explorer?

  1. It will NEVER be a mistake. Firefox is honestly a LOT safer and faster and easier to use than Explorer. I made the switch last year and have saved myself a LOT of crashes for it. Occasionally it will crash BUT if you open it again it WILL give you the option to start a new session or restore your old one. If it crashes again I suggest starting a new session. It's probably the website. <3 GOOD LUCK!

  2. Firefox 3 is the way.  Really.

It's more stable than IE, meaning it crashes much less.  And, when it does crash, it can automatically restore windows when you start it back up!  it can save your passwords for you, remember tabs you've closed, and has a very advanced history indexer.

It's MUCH more secure than IE, too.  It's more likely bad things will happen to peoples computers _before_ downloading Firefox than after!

Firefox is also open source, meaning that a community of volunteers work together to keep it fast and safe!

    Btw, it's very fast.

One of the greatest features of Firefox is it's extensibility.  That is, there is a vast selection of addons that can be installed to do everything imaginable - give Firefox a completely new look, or give you weather forecasts at the bottom of your screen, or play music, and many more!

So go ahead, go get Firefox.

    You won't regret it!

  3. You know- I'm a very loyal IE7 user, but my brother tried downloading Firefox 3 and, to be honest, i was very impressed with it's speed- however i have noticed some compatibility problems with it like downloading files, listening to music, and plugins (like Java and Flash player) so i'm happy with IE again.

I would say if you're happy with IE stick with it.

If you want to try something new go with FF3

  4. Nothing bad will happen from installing Firefox.  I use it all the time.  Give it a try and see if you like it.  If you don't then uninstall it.

  5. Well, I'm an internet explorer lover... however, I've heard many good things about firefox.. Less crashes and such.

  6. if you switch to firefox from internet explorer you will luv it mor becaus i just switched bout a month ago and i like it a lot more

  7. Definitely switch. I had the same misgivings at first after always using IE but I installed Mozilla Firefox 4 months ago and have never once regretted it.

It's the best. Quicker, easier to use and less problems with connectivity

  8. Firefox is great IMO.  I have it, and it works very well, never crashes, and has a fast web-page loading time.  Internet explorer is similar, but Firefox is great for a Google person.  Tons of add-ons for Google.

The only problem is plug-ins.  They do not work as well as IE.

I suggest IE for downloads, and FF for just surfing and youtubing, and such...

  9. it doesn't hurt to have both
