I'm thinking of applying to volunteer for Doctors w/o borders, but I'm not a Doctor or a Nurse. I do have extensive medical backround and experience. I am really passionate in helping people and making a big difference in the world. What are my chances of getting accepted? Does anyone knows what other volunteer opportunity there are in the program, besides Doctors, Nurses, and Laboratory technicians? I had checked the site already. Has anyone volunteered or have any experiences in this type of work?

  1. I've got no experience or specific information, but every business, whether it's non-profit humanitarianism or greedy industry, needs support at many levels. I would assume that your extensive medical background might be sufficient to serve Doctors Without Borders' needs in some way, perhaps freeing up doctors or nurses for tasks only they can perform.

Why not apply? The worst they can say is no thanks.
