  3. I'm a vegeterian. I have been since fifth grade (i'm going into ninth now.) I'm wicked unhealthy though,i live off of junk hahaaa.

  4. There is nothing to worry about.  I am one as well and have been one for almost a year now and it's going awesome.  I don't even like meat anymore whatsoever.

I watch the food network everyday, and learn all kinds of interesting things like that humans are not made to be meat eaters.  Well not supposed to be anyways.

  5. The only drawbacks is the constant questions from those who don't understand your beliefs.

Make sure you talk to your doctor or a nutritionist about your personal needs because it is a big dietary change.

  6. if your worried about your protien and acid intake that you would normally get from meat then have no fear because you can allways suplument that with totally natural whey protein which is a much healthier and purer form of protein then meat anyways.  Dont get me wrong i love mean...but facts are facts and meat isnt always the healthiest way to go.

  7. Seeing friends enjoys meat treats (jerky, wings, pepperoni). I was vegetarian for a year and that ended in a passionate night of me, video games, and a box of 50 wings (I lived in buffalo at the time, so you can appreciate how amazing those wings were)

  8. I have a mate who is very full on about animal rights, I bet she just really hates vegetables, haha!!

Anyways...  Meat is an awesome source of Iron and protein.

Depends on the extext you take being a vegitarian to.  My mate won't eat certain lollies (marshmellows) or gravy, because the gelatin contains animals fats or something.

No meat means;  No awesome barbicues, no sushi, no spag bog, no steak, no lamb roast, no egg and bacon breakkies and fish n' chips will just be chips.

I love meat, wouldn't give it up.

  9. well u wont get the nutrients from meat....that drwback...

  10. The amino acids in meat are found in plant foods just as easily.

There are no drawbacks if you don't start replacing meat with eggs, dairy or junk food and if you learn about a balanced vegan diet.

  11. Amino acids are no problem, The main 8 are in tofu and cheese and eggs. Or you can combine beans, nuts or legumes for the 8 essential. I cant think of many drawbacks, just dont load up on too many cheese and cream things. You will get everything you need from eggs and cheese.

  12. Everything we need, we can get from a healthy vegetarian diet, as long as it's reasonably well balanced. The only difficult to work with drawback I've really found is that it's a little harder to eat out. Most restaurants have at least a little bit of something vegetarian, but there are still many places with minimal selection, and some that aren't trustworthy to not get meat in your food. You don't even want to know how many times I've started to eat something and found meat in my supposedly vegetarian dish...It's usually in Chinese food, too, which is one of my favorites. Just be sure to find places that understand what vegetarian ACTUALLY means, ask what's in something if you're unsure, and you should be all set.

Good luck, whether you end up going veg or not.

  13. Ok..let go of the lie that meat is the only "good" source of protein...first we need less protein than we are told..but even without that you can get plenty of protein from veg resources...raw food vegans get it only from veggies, nuts, fruit, and oils..they don't even eat soy..which you can obviously get enough from soy..but eating too much soy is being found to be a bad thing....as a good example of something great to get your protein/amino acids from Hemp seeds/oil...

Hemp protein contains all 20 known amino acids including the 9 essential amino acids (EAAs) our bodies cannot produce. Proteins are considered complete when they contain all 9 essential amino acids in a sufficient quantity and ratio to meet the body's needs. Hemp seeds contain an adequate supply of these high quality proteins (EAAs) for a well balanced diet.

Hemp protein is free of the tryspin inhibitors which block protein absorption and free of oligosaccharides found in soy, which cause stomach upset and gas.

Approximately 65% of the protein in hemp seeds is made up of the globulin protein Edestin and is found only in hemp seed. Edestin aids digestion, is relatively phosphorus-free and considered the backbone of the cell's DNA. The other one third of hemp seed protein is Albumin, another high quality globulin protein similar to that found in egg whites.

So as you can see protein is a common question but it has been answered for a loooong time now.....as for any other drawbacks the only that I have found is the fact that it is harder to eat out..well more annoying than hard..but I have found ways of making it work and i am a vegan..as for being vegitarian it is actually pretty easy to eat almost anywhere....

Good luck..and just do research on being veg there is a lot out there....
