  1. yes but u might get in a car crash because u would have to look over and it hat to be positioned with the back off the sceree facing the front wind shield or else the gps would think you are going in a diferent direction

  2. You can have it anywhere in your car and it will work. If it's cloudy, it will get a better lock on the satellites if it's in the windshield where it can "see" the sky. It doesn't matter it's orientation in the car, as it relies on change in position to determine speed and direction, not what direction it's facing. The things you'll want to consider are ease of use and legality. If it speaks the directions, and you can use those without seeing the maps, it won't make a difference if it's where you can't easily see it.  If you want to see how far to your next turn, or what road you're on, etc, having it mounted on your dash/windshield will make it MUCH easier to use effectively. On the legality issue, some states prohibit putting anything on your windshield. I've found using a movable dash mount is the best option - you can place it where you can see it best, and you're not putting anything permanent in your car. You can also move it between cars easily. Also, the windshield mounts don't always stay up securely. There's nothing more frustrating than your GPS falling down by you're feet while you're driving!

  3. it shouldn't matter whre u have it at as long as it can get a satellite signal it would be good to have it on ur dash or somewhere save on ur windshield so u can turn ur head a little and see it instead of looking down at your seat
