I want a small tattoo (around three inches) I don't mind if it's seen outside of work but I work in a professional environment and don't want anyone to know about it in general. Where should I get it that will be discrete and uh...not so painful? Also, how do I go about picking a good artist?

  1. somewhere were you can have it completely hidden and not show through on a shirt..../

  2. This guy in my office has 1 on each of his shins wrapping halfway around his leg in a tribal design. He wears short because we're laid back and you can see them, but you wouldn't be able to see them with pants on. Or you could get it on the shoulder but that's stereotypical. I think the back is a good place to get one too, you would never be able to see that unless you were shirtless.

  3. Upper arm

  4. Maybe on your back or your foot if you'd like it to be seen only outside of work. Check out some artists at local shops websites (you could probably search yahoo or google to find sites for local shops), that might help you decide where to go, or just ask someone who has a tattoo that you like who did it for them.

  5. I asked around and found a really good tattoo artist .. you should too. Maybe place the tattoo on your mid-to upper back or your ankle? I don't know if guys get tattoos there. You could also place it on your upper arm or the back of your leg. It's small thought so idk how it would look in those places.

  6. well if  you get it  on your uppe arm your shirt will cover it. with that dress code anywhere but your face and neck and hands would be covered.as far as the artist go to several places and look at their books on display. also look at the parlor itself, make sure its  clean! the place i got mine you could eat off the floor if you wanted  to. i've seen operating rooms less sterile then this place lol good luck enjoy the tattoo

  7. On your butt

  8. Your back or shoulder, or even chest.

But back/ back shoulder tattoos are soooo s**y on most men.

  9. Oh, then you can go for your wrist since you wear long sleeves.  It can easily be covered.  Wrist tattoos can be trendy and cool and great location for small tattoos.

  10. maybe right underneath the collar part of your shirt?

  11. Back shoulder or any place that if you remove a jacket or sweater it does not show.  In the professional world some people frown on tattoos and automatically devalue you.  Dumb, I know.

When you see someone with a tattoo that you like ask them where they got it.  Browse shops until you find a design.  It took me 3 years to find the design and artist.

Ensure the tattoo you choose is something you would hang on your wall as a piece of art.

Remember that any "tats" close to a bone ie shoulder blade, ankle,  where the flesh is thinner, hurts the most.

The outline hurts a bit but once they fill in the colour it's not bad.

  12. get a huge one on youre chest, not just a small one. when you get one in a few weeks you will want another. it happens everyone. so you might aswell get a decent one when youre there.

  13. On guys I think it looks nice on their shoulder (top of the arm) or the shoulder blade.  I also like them on a man's calf muscle as well.  I have not had one on the top of my arm, so cannot say how that feels, but I have one on my shoulder blade which was the least painful of all my tattoos
