Playa De Las Glorias, Puerto Vallarta. This is part of a holiday village, having about five adjoining hotels, with several pools, and its own little shopping village. Right on the beach, about twenty minutes from the airport, and about another ten minutes further on to the centre of Puerto Vallarta, sitting at the edge of the Sierre Madre mountains. We found this place to be wonderful. The hotel itself was all-inclusive, but we were able to use some of the other hotels&#039; restaurants as part of this all-inclusive deal. Just a short taxi trip into the centre offers more restaurants, all reasonably priced with great food. Worth taking a day horse riding up in to the mountains too!!

This side of Mexico is much less commercialised than Cancun, Cozumel etc. We loved it!

There&#039;s a lot to see and it depends on how much you want to spend and what you wanna see. You can find jungle, beaches, historical cities, natural beauties, caves, etc, etc.I can tell you several places and tell you prices, hotels and that stuff. Mexico is a very large country and you don&#039;t specify where in Mexico you are going, so its really hard to to help you.

For a change from the beach resorts, I highly reccomend going to a tiny village named Fortín de las flores in the state of Veracruz if you just want to relax and do nothing and drink the best coffee ever.

The hotel of that same name is really rustic and a fun place. Definitely better than the blandness of the big resort hotels. You will have to sacrifice cable tv and such, but for a week of relaxing the place is totally worth it. I&#039;d love to go back there!

Hrm.. There&#039;s so many other great places to go to in Mexico. If you can put up with the traffic you may enjoy Mexico City. The weather has been very nice lately (ironically warmer right now than most of this year), though the temperature is probably doing to drop in December.

I&#039;d also highly reccomend going to Taxco, Guerrero. Just a 2 1/2 hour drive from Mexico City. One of the funnest places ever to spend a weekend and the food is great.

I went last year to Cancun and the Riveria Maya for 2 weeks. It is an amazing place which I found hard to come back home from!

I would get some holiday brochures first and have a look through them. Then when you have the names of hotels you may like to visit look them up on www.tripadvisor.com

I stayed in the Riu Caribe in Cancun which was all inclusive and then the El Dorado Seaside Suites on the Riveria Maya (wasn&#039;t too impressed with the latter I must say). Absolutely can&#039;t fault the Riu Caribe in any way!

There is so much to do in the area. Cancun is particularly good if you like the clubbing scene (although you don&#039;t have to get involved in that at all if you don&#039;t want to). The main places to go are Coco Bongos and Senor Frogs. The Riveria Maya is a bit more tame but no less boring!

Chichen Itza, Tulum and the many cenotes are must visits if you are going to the area. We also enjoyed Xel-ha for snorkelling, a day with the dolphins at Cancun&#039;s Interactive Aquarium and being let loose in speedboats in Cancun&#039;s lagoon. It was a lovely holiday and I would love to go back!

I went to Playa Del Carmen in December 2005, and we stayed at the Royal Porto Real resort...it was an all-inclusive resort, so nice!  I&#039;ve also been to the Rui (or Riu...forgot the spelling) resorts, and they&#039;re super-nice too!  My friends just got back from Puerto Vallarta, and they had an awesome time.

We just got back from 3 week vacation in Playa del Carmen and tried a condo for the first time.  Had a great time and highly recommend casa-schwartz.com.  We chose that place because of the good price and were hugely surprised at how great it was.  Playa del Carmen was amazing, incredible beaches, great shopping, fantastic restaurants. We did not have a bad meal and we tried a different restaurant everytime with the exception of the restaurant Alimendros on 4th Calle between 5th and 10.  We went there twice and had super ribs.  Not sure of the spelling but it is Spanish for Almonds.  Can&#039;t say enough good things about that area.

Wow, Julie...glad to hear you are coming to Mexico to visit.  You know, Mexico is a huge country with lots of interesting places to visit for a first-time visitor.  However, much depends on your likes and what you would like to see/do.  For example, if you want a beach-type experience, you have Cancun, Riviera Maya, Acapulco, Huatulco, etc.  If you are more into the urban scene, Mexico City is fascinating as are the other colonial cities in the central part of the country; places like Queretaro, Morelia, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, Oaxaca, Leon, etc.  Then there are the archaelogical sites:  Chichen-Itza, Uxmal, etc.  

So, as you can see, you have a lot to choose from.  Whatever you decide to do, however, you will discover that Mexico is a beautiful place and Mexicans tend to be very hospitable so you should have a very positive experience.

Have fun, use common sense, don&#039;t drink and drive, be wary of strangers but keep an open mind and a positive attitude and you should have a lot of fun.

Ive stayed in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen and had the best holidays of my life!

Theres so much to do and see, people are incredibly friendly.

Id love to go back every year.......if I could afford to!!
