I found some powder coated aluminum exhaust with zinc anodes and I want to install them on my boat which is primarally in brackish water. Is this a good idea or should I find something different besides stainless(can't afford these)?

  1. Even if you were in Freshwater, I wouldn't recommend aluminum manifolds. The other answer is correct in that aluminum will corrode almost as easy as zinc will. If I were you, I'd go with Stainless Marine manifolds (it's a company) that give you added performance, better looks as well as a nice replacement from stock. Look them up...we've installed plenty of those Stainless Marine manifolds and they work great and look really nice, too. Good Luck!

  2. The answer is still the same Matt, but what are you trying to gain with this? Performance or looks or just a replacement part? Aluminum is not to far away from zinc as far as corrosion is concerned, while stainless is at the other end.
