I'm thinking of moving to France when I'm older?

I'm currently 16 and in the UK. I love France and would like to live there when I'm around 25 or so. Will qualifications I gain in the UK (such as GCSEs, A-levels, University qualifications) allow me to get decent employment in France?

  1. I don't know exactly english diplomas, but learn what you like and the farther you can, and learn to speak french. For the next years, you can come in summer in France for 1 month each summer and you will speak without problem.

You will have at least one advantage : you speak english much better than french.

At least, you'll be able to work in tourism if it's your taste.

  2. I would say get at least a BA/BSc, or a Master's if you can stand uni for four years. While you're at uni, ask your French professors if they have any contacts in France who might be looking to hire an English native speaker and go from there. It worked for me!

  3. Depends on the type of job you`re looking at my friend... my suggest would be for you to look for international business and travel...so that when you make it to france... you got oversea experience rather than UK only. Come and visit first, work on your french...realistic to say it`s a difficult one to grab.

Choose to stay in a major but not so big city: Lille...Lyon...Toulouse...Nice.

I live in Newcastle and love my country but it`s fair to say you enjoy yourself a lot more abroad.

    Enjoy the flight

  4. A Levels are the equivalent of a French Bac, and the only jobs you get with a Bac are very low level. Cashiers and so.

You will need some more qualifications for a decent employment.

Most university degrees have equivalences in France and you can find employment.
