I'm VERY experienced with this craft *have sailed relatively long distances and in heavy winds* and I know that people have sailed them from Maine to the Keys. Having said that, does anyone know of any links pertaining to long distance sailing in small boats? I'm just begining to consider this so I'm looking at summer 2009.

  1. Only advice is make sure your will etc. is complete before you try it. Good luck, you'll need it.

  2. Oh my, that would be one h**l of a trip in that vessel, definitely a challenge. I can't say I would have the guts to do the same.lol. However, I do think you could make the trip successfully with the right planning, which you have plenty of time to do. I don't know any links right off the top of my head but I have several friends that sail smaller boats, not as small as your boat. If you are really serious let me know and I will get some info from them. If you need lodging  during your visit , I live 20 minutes from the VA Beach ocean front. lol.

  3. Well hun, you might want to contact a guy I know in Annapolis named Glenn Bell, he deals in many different types of boating issues, and sells them too...awesome guy.  Good Luck with your trip! :) Sounds exciting!-Rachel.

  4. d**n well i dnt no any links all i no is dat i want to go wit u take me take me :)

  5. Sure, plan your route, bring a decent compass, create a passage plan, file it with family, have safe refuges set up along the way, and stay close enough where you can handle adverse winds, and watch the weather.
