  1. I think Saucy gave you the perfect idea  for your party.......have fun...

  2. Got to your local  party store (they have tuns of island themed decorations) and get a beach scene setter to place on a wall. Place Christmas lights behind it so it can look like an evening beach scene (if the party is at night). Find palm trees (inflatable and wall decorations) to place on the tables as center pieces and place coconuts and pineapples beside them. Get beach towels and beach balls and place in different areas for added affect. Find some Caribbean themed music (something with steel drums) to play during the party. Get some sand and seashells and place in one area on trash bags for easy clean up.  Make sure you do food with a Caribbean twist, like chicken or beef with a jerk sauce, or have a few dishes with seafood in it.

  3. Colors for a Caribbean Theme

Pale blue, sea green, coral, earthtones, pink, yellow, red, green.

    Decorations

Rent or buy silk or real palm trees

Decorate with seashells. You can add glitter to the seashells to add that festive touch.

Tiki huts can be rented or you can make your own.

Palms also look nice on the tables. Either in a vase or laid out on the tables under centerpieces and maybe even the plates and such.

Decorate tables with bold, bright tropical flowers. You can put them in bowls, vases, jars, baskets, large conch shells or attach them to the napkin ring holders.

Driftwood is another inexpensive way to make centerpieces. Use serving trays and fill with sand, shells and candles.

Use nautical laterns as centerpieces surrounded with tropical flowers.

Incorporate coconuts, mangos, avacodos, and citrus fruit into your centerpieces.

Hang tan and blue balloons from the ceilings.

Use paper laterns Incorporate palm trees, parrots, flamingos, suns or tropical fish into your centerpieces or decorations.

Line the tables with grass skirting

Oh ok...if it's for your parents, then yes leave out the hemp leaves!!! Don't do the tiki huts or grass skirts... that's a Hawaiian theme.

You said you were throwing a Jamaican theme party, If you want a Jamaican theme...this is the one. If you are having a party for your parents 25th Anniversary then I suggest you go with a Romantic Caribbean theme party. The colors are whatever you want it to be... blue for water, green for the palms, tan for sand, yellow for the sun etc....I love white candles.... it's Soothing, clean, crisp, calm, relaxing and romantic. Plus it looks good with everything.

If I had more info I could really hook you up with some ideas...Where is the party... Indoor or outdoor? When? Do you have a budget?  (If you're having it by a pool it would be real cool) You can use sand, rocks or shells...to place on a plate all around your white candle. Candles are the real touch!  Get the real palm trees from  Home depot...not the fake ones. This all depends on you, if you wanna go all out.... Live Steel pan and reggae music or just buy some CD's. Ask your guest to wear sun dresses (ladies) and (men) in tropical shirts.
