  1. How about if you draft a neighbor, who is invited to the party, to assist you.  Have them make up some reason for a gathering that would not offend your dad to not be invited to, such as a Tupperware party, and ask him if he would mind if some of the guests use your drive and street in front of your house.  Then he won't be surprised when he sees cars that he recognizes in his drive.  He'll just think they are attending the Tupperware party next door.  Your mom will have to co ordinate the story with the neighbor.  It would seem weird for the neighbor to have the party and use your drive if they didn't invite your mom.

  2. tell him "u really need help with something  like for furniture and u need new furniture but ur afraid u might get riped off and beg him say like plese i really need your help dad''

  3. Have people park their cars on another street and walk the rest of the way...

  4. I did this for my husband's 40th

I hired the local hall and got his friend to turn up saying he had a job renovating the hall's kitchen, and had to give a quote for the work

My hubby said he would help him, should he be successful.

I had prepared all the food and stored it well away.

Friends delivered it all on my behalf, and then hid.

As it was his birthday him and his friend went to the pub for a drink first.

    Perfect.

The hall was in darkness when they arrived and then

    "Surprise surprise".

The neighbours loaned us car parking space, putting their cars out of their garage.

Have a neat party, make sure you have a swear box on hand, they are usually called for lol.

  5. How about hiring out a function room at a restaurant or something.  You could tell your dad that you are taking him out to dinner.  That way, when your dad see's so many cars at the restaurant - he won't be too surprised (people like to eat) and all the guests can be in the function room ready to surprise him.

  6. Park down the street and walk?  Get people who know each other to carpool?

  7. If the guests don't mind taking a bit of a walk, and if you have a friend or neighbor who would let you "borrow" their driveway, maybe you could have the guests park their cars there.

  8. Have the guests hide their cars at neighbors' houses.  This is especially easier, too, if you have small groups of them rendevous at different locations and ride together.  (Less cars, less houses to park them.)

If that seems too complicated, you could always have everyone wait outside for him with big signs, banners, and decorations when he arrives home.  You don't HAVE to get everyone to jump out from behind couches, you know.  ;)

To make things a little easier on you, you might also ask some guests to arrive early to help with decorations, another to pick up the cake, etc.

Good luck!  Remember, surprise parties are always fun, but "I-figured-out-it-was-a-surprise" parties are still just as fun.

  9. Here's what I did.  I planned a come one come all surprize party for my sweetie's 30th birthday with free alcohol and endless beer.  And trust me, they did come all.  There was my family, my family's family, his family, his family's family, his family's friends, his firends, my friends, and people nobody cared about.  That's a lot of cars.

So, I planned the party over one of our friend's house (could be another family member's house in your case) and claimed they were having a dinner party and he was invited.  I told him that she needed me to help with the party, and I was going to arrive early to set everything up.   When I got there, the guests were all sorted out and the food was ready, all I had to do was quiet everyone down until birthday boy came in.

When the guest of honor arrived, he was so shocked he nearly cried, then the party really got underway.  Try it!  It works! :)
