Question:

I'm tired the whole day after a morning Jog. Isn't it supposed to be the other way round ?

I have heard and read from several sources that jogging in the morning is the best especially if one is looking to lose weight.

For starters, I'm a 24 year old male.

I just started jogging in the morning a few days a go and I have to say its been rather difficult. I read that when you go jogging in the morning, you are supposed to feel good the whole day or something along those lines. But its the direct opposite for me. I try getting to bed at about midnight and then I get up at 6 and leave the house 30 minutes later for a 30 minute jog (so I'm sure its not a sleep issue).

But instead of feeling good all day I'm worn out and tired. What am I doing wrong ? Or is it something I'll get over with time ?

  1. just give it more time

  2. You should also take into consideration what you are fueling your body with. Eating every 3-4 hours in necessary for energy and it speeds up your metabolize so you will burn more calories. The best thing you can do is listen to your body. If you do stick with morning jogs for 21 days, because that’s how long it takes in order to form any habit, and your body is still tired throughout the whole day then you should exercise after work. I am not a morning person at all I might get up to do yoga or Pilates in the morning but nothing strenuous because it wears me out throughout the rest of the day. Then later that night at 5:30 or 6pm I will take a cycling class, go running or strength train at the gym.

  3. That's the way it happens at first.  Your body needs to adjust.  It'll take a week or two.  Bummer, I know, but that's what happens when you use your body in a new way.
