  1. You can toast them in just a frying pan too.  Just put a small amount of butter or spray in a pan over medium heat, then add the walnuts, and stir frequently for about 2-3 minutes. Watch them carefully, you don't want them to burn.

  2. Preheat a 350 degree oven for at least 15 minutes.  Line a baking sheet with alum. foil and lay the walnuts in a single layer.  Toast the walnuts for about 3 to 4 minutes, then using a spatula toss the walnuts around and toast for another 3 to 4 minutes.  The times are approximate because only you know just how your oven temp heats.

The trick to toasting nuts is to never leave the kitchen.  Always keep an eye on them because they will burn very easily and then you will have to toss them.

If you have a counter-top toaster oven, then it would be so much easier to use that instead.

  3. 350 for 15 minutes.  I actually toast in a pan on the stove top.  It is easier, faster and less energy.  Just don't leave the kitchen and toss frequently.  Take about 8-10 minutes.
