  1. No Shuttle in space today. Next mission will be STS-125, the Hubble Service Mission, in October. This mission will not be visible in the UK, as the Shuttle will not reach higher latitudes as 28.8° (North or South)

  2. The Space Shuttle isn't currently in orbit, but you can see the International Space Station tonight. It is due to pass across Mid-Wales from west to east from about 10.49 to 10.53 p.m. At its highest, it will be about 65 degrees above the horizon and should be easily visible (clouds permitting) as a very bright moving 'star'.

It should also be visible every evening for the rest of the week. You can obtain predictions from http://www.heavens-above.com

  3. Perhaps you meant the Intenational Space Station (ISS). It is always "up there" circling the Earth several times a day.

Check < heavens-above> as others have mentioned. There you can register and find a flyby schedule for the ISS over your location. It is very bright, at times brighter than any star in the night sky. Generally, it will move from the western(ish) region of your sky to the east, however, its apparent "flightpath" will vary markedly.

  4. Go here and you can find out the times, direction, brightness etc. for everything in the sky, but I mostly use it for looking at the space station:

Select where you are by clicking on "select from database" and typing in your nearest town.

Click on "10 day predictions ISS".

I wasn't aware that there is a shuttle up at the moment, but that is the International Space Station.

What is really impressive is to see both the space station and the shuttle following each other.

  5. The shuttle isn't up yet!

Do you think that they mean the space station?

You can see this most nights..follow link for schedual...

Pick which town you are nearest to and you'll get a weeks worth of times!

    Clear Skies!
