I'm 16, and wear a size 16/18 pants and feel like a whale, like some people tell me I don't look big but I really am...I want to be on the swim team or some sports team but feel that I am too fat to do it, and I like running, and doing stuff that's active but I never do it because of my low self-esteem because when I race my skinny friends I keep up easily, and can even beat one of my smaller friends. I just have low self esteem.

  1. Nothing should hold you back from doing what you want. And if you have body issues parading around in a bathing suit will help you overcome that. I am a swimmer and we don't judge. We just care about the sport. And swimming is a great workout, you will slim down in no time.

  2. Hello.... Once thing that i would may say is

    JENNIE CREG

  3. no one is to fat to swim. actually swimming is a good way to lose weight. You should always tell yourself that your pretty. Also there are some people in the world that arent skinny and they are way more prettier than the skinny people.

  4. Nah man, you're never too big to exercise!!! It's better if you start now than lazying around!!

I mean I"m pretty much the same and I'm out there play sports with people, I'm quite small but I'm stronger and faster than them. SO just gotaa believe in yourself and don't let anyone put you down, especially yourself

  5. i dont like fat people and i dont like big boys and i dont like big girls so basically i dont like big girls

  6. NEVER let your size hold you back.  Never let anything hold you back.  You only limit yourself.  Join all the sports you like.  The extra activity may just be what you need to help lose a couple of pounds and give you the incentive you need to do so.  Plus you should try everything so that you can find that spot where you are good and when you find that special spot. . .look for a few more things to try.  You learn so much from each thing you try win, lose or draw.  And you don't have low self esteem. . .you said you know you can beat your skinny friends. . .so your problem is your weight.  You're embarrassed because you are bigger than your friends and peers.  It's really pretty simple.  The more you don't do, the more you feel sorry for yourself and the more you eat.  The solution is eat less and exercise more.  But you know that so do something about it and you will be so glad you did.  But most important is not to waste a minute of your life. . .do all those things you want to do and don't worry about anyone else's opinion.  You go girl and be all you can be. . .

  7. Don't worry about it i am the same way. I'm 17 size 12 and I play all kinds of sports. Trust me if you are out doing things people will respect you more because it means you aren't being lazy. I play hockey with a bunch of skinny people and I am just as fast as them so don't worry about it at all.

  8. Why low self esteem, when you are now interested to improve yourself to show how you can make it to others.   When there is a WILL there is a WAY to do it.  Just think.

Train up YOU, yourself to take up the challenge and be a victor.

    Steps to take:

    1) Stop eating FAST FOOD, take energy & home food for health.

    2) Start REGULAR fitness training by Walk, Jog, Climb, Swim and Push-up (strengthen your chest & breathing power).

    3) Develop this good habit for 6 months and you will be fit for anything.

    4) Tell yourself YOU can do it and will fight to the end.

Good luck to you & get SUCCESS.

  9. Even though I wasn't over weight I always felt like I was. But since i'm on the swim team I know i am getting exercise and working out every night so I felt better about myself. If you feel like you are over weight swimming is probably one of the best ways to lose some so go for it girl!

  10. If your unhappy with your body, it'll never be what you want it to be unless you decide to do something about it. The longer you wait to loose weight, the harder it'll be to loose it. That's just the way your body works.

I was too scared to join my school's swim team this year because of my big size, but I finally got the courage to do it and i've never been more proud of myself. Plus I'm already loosing wight! (Swimming is one of the most effective weight-loss sports) I would definitely go out for a sport if I were you bc college is just around the corner for you and don't you wanna look your best? :) Good luck and be happy with who you are.

  11. dont worry about your size, do what you enjoy.  if you are too self concious maybe join a gym where you can work out privately and get into better shape so you feel good about yourself then start playing more sports. plus life is wayy to short to not do what you love just because of low self esteem!

  12. Don't worry about it. I'm a little on the large side and I was worried about that when I joined the swim team. Dont' worry, people don't judge you.
